About Us
The picture above was the first one taken of the Pug Meetup Group back in May of 2006. We were a very small group that would meet once a month at Marymoor Park. As the group was starting to grow, Marymoor wasn't working out for all of our Pugs. That is when we moved it to Robinswood Park in Bellevue, where we rented a dog corral for our private use and started meeting up twice a month!
Now that the group was growing and fall was arriving we wanted to continue meeting up twice a month. The Pugs love it but the weather was going to change and Pugs don't like the rain! We approached an indoor dog training facility with the idea of renting out their training room to have our Pugs come and play! They loved the idea and our playtimes moved to the indoor faclity in September 2006!
In August of 2008, we chose to take the Pug Club to a private level, leave Meetup.com and rename the group to NW Pugs. Every member had the choice to join our private group and 108 of them joined! Even though NW Pugs is a private Pug group we welcome all new Pug members to join!
~NW Pugs is a non-profit dog group for Pugs and Pug mix.
~We are members who bring our Pugs together for them to run, play and socialize with other Pugs.
~By joining NW Pugs you will get the chance to socialize your Pug and visit with other people who love Pugs too!
~There are currently no monthly or yearly fees to join. There is an entry fee of $4.00 per Pug, per playtime. $3.00 goes to the facility and the other $1.00. goes to the NW Pugs Fund for supplies. (Entry fee can change due to type of event)
~NW Pugs Fund is an account that pays for prizes, clean up supplies, playtime toys & other needed items for playtimes, parties, events, donations to rescues & shelters, etc. Balances are sent out in playtime emails.
~ We offer Pug Playtimes twice a month along with many themed parties through out the year!
~Past themed parties have been the Puggie Valentine Party, St. Pugtrick's Party, Puggie Birthday Bash, 2 Year Celebration of NW Pugs, Pugs-N-Treats Halloween Party, Holiday Pug Party & more!
~We support local rescues and shelters for animals that are in need. We will post local Fundraisers events where we as members can join in and show our NW Pugs support! A donation will come from us, members of NW Pugs, to the shelter or rescue having the Fundraiser. (Money for a donation will come from the NW Pugs Fund)
~Past Fundraiser events NW Pugs have attended and made a donation from our fund: Easter B'egg Hunt for Howeward Pet Adoption, Pug Gala for the Seattle Pug Rescue every year in May, Furry 5K for the Seattle Animal Shelter and now Pug-o-ween for the Seattle Pug Rescue!
~Many of our members are volunteers for the Seattle Pug Rescue! If you are interested in knowing more about volunteering please contact us.
~ By signing up to become a member of NW Pugs you will receive emails for upcoming playtimes and events. Your email will not be given out to anyone without your permission.
~At anytime if you wish to leave NW Pugs please email us and we will remove you from our mailing list.
